Engineering

Students in Mr. Dulberger's 5th grade classroom often enjoy spending time at the Maker Table. WA typical project could involve replicating a bridge or sky scraper with K'nex or creating a time-lapse film with Lego characters. The purpose of this space to give students an area to combine critical and creative thinking skills with engineering practices. Regardless of the project being completed, 5thGradeU students are encouraged to use trial and error methods just like many real engineers do. Failures can be used to foster successes as students figure out what works and does not. Teachers, parents, and students are encouraged to use this page as a resource for classroom engineering projects, ideas, and lessons. As always, please share any successful experiences you have had engineering with students with Mr. Dulberger.

Lesson of the Month
Return to Home Page
On a snowy indoor recess day in March, students in Mr. Dulberger's class used an old shoebox, an Erector set, skateboard trucks/wheels and duct tape to engineer a trailer for the EV3 robots. The trailer may not be perfect but it is a step in the right direction!
